First published in 1860 this book is probably one of the most informative written on the subject. The Priory of St. Peter and St Paul was founded as an Augustine establishment circa 1115 by William Gyffarde the Bishop of Winchester and has had a rich history which this excellent book describes fully. An excellent addition to the collection of anyone with an interest in the history of Taunton.
