Great Grimsby Old Cemetery Burial Registers and Monumental Inscriptions 1855-1943

Grimsby Old Cemetery (also known as Ainslie Street or Doughty Road Cemetery) Burial Registers with monumental inscriptions recorded in 1892. This cemetery was cleared in 1959 and all headstones destroyed. There are 14,737 burial entries and over 1,270 monumental inscriptions recorded.

Newtown (Cally) Altrincham by David Miller

The railway arrived in Altrincham in 1849. The railway workers needed housing, so Newtown was built on Hale Moss on the south-eastern edge of the town between what is now Lloyds Street and Oxford Road. It was soon nicknamed 'Cally'. There are many versions of why it was called this.
