Pollbooks record the names of voters in Parliamentary elections. They show the distribution of surnames across wide areas, and enable you to identify the homes of family names in particular places. They are valuable sources for both family and local historians. Many have been published in the Raymonds Original Pollbooks series; these cover London and Westminster, Norfolk, Suffolk, and Yorkshire. There are also electoral registers for Somerset in this series. The price of all these volumes has now been drastically reduced.
