This booklet contains a list of the main records of interest to the genealogical researcher for the St James Piccadilly area, also known as St James Westminster. It is based on the ancient parish of St James and includes the districts of Berwick Street, Golden Square, Great Marlborough Street, Jermyn Street and Pall Mall. This area was in the county of Middlesex but is now in the City of Westminster London Borough. St James’s Palace is included in the booklet as it is within this area, however is extra-parochial with its own administration. Apart from the vital records of the various religious denominations, examples of subjects covered in this booklet are police records, The Chapels Royal and wills and probate records.
