This booklet contains a list of the main records of interest to the genealogical researcher for the area based on the ancient parish of Edmonton and includes the districts of Arnos Grove, Bowes Park, Bush Hill Park, Edmonton Green, Lower Edmonton, New Southgate, Oakwood, Palmer’s Green, Southgate, Upper Edmonton and Winchmore Hill. This area was in the county of Middlesex but is now in the London Borough of Enfield. Apart from the vital records of the various religious denominations, examples of subjects covered in this booklet are the various local burial grounds and cemeteries, including the Quaker Burial Ground at Winchmore Hill, cricket archives and Poor Law records, which include the Strand Union from Central London, who had a workhouse immediately to the north of the Edmonton Union one. Details include where these records can be found, whether they are original hard-copy records, transcriptions in books, or on the internet. This 72-page A5 illustrated booklet is part of our ongoing series of Parish Guides.
