About Us
Wiltshire Family History Society is the focal point for family historians everywhere with Wiltshire ancestors. Its aim is to encourage the study of the Wiltshire ancestry of people world-wide and the world-wide ancestry of Wiltshire residents. Contacts between members include regular meetings, a quarterly Journal published in January, April, July and October and participation in shared activities such as its highly regarded transcription team that creates wide-ranging reference resources.
Members not only research their ancestors by name but use all available information to build up a picture of the settings in which they lived. As the Society consists of a friendly mixture of complete beginners and experienced family historians there is every opportunity for beginners to receive encouragement in their researches.
