Booklets and microfiche whch provide valuable sources for family historians
21 parishes now available on CD ROM
Felixstowe FHS was formed in 1986 with the aims of:
The Colneis Peninsula lies between the Rivers Deben and Orwell and is bounded on the west by Ipswich and Woodbridge. It includes the parishes of Felixstowe, Walton, Trimley St. Mary, Trimley St. Martin, Kirton, Falkenham, Levington, Nacton, Brightwell, Martlesham, Bucklesham, Newbourn, Hemley and Waldringfield.
We hold copies of many records of the Colneis Peninsula as well as local books, photographs and scrapbooks. We also have the 1988 International Genealogical Index for the whole of the British Isles, microfiche copies of the General Registers of Births, Deaths & Marriages up to 1910, the 1881 Census for the UK on both microfiche and CD ROM as well as other computerised information. Also held there is the Huguenot Society "Quarto Series".
Publishing local records. Since the Society's Foundation, members have recorded local Monumental Inscriptions and these have been collated and published. Many parochial church councils have kindly allowed us to copy their registers and these, too, have been published.
