THE VISITATION OF SOMERSET 1623

Description

This volume contains the original notes of the Visitation of Somersetshire; made in the year 1623 by Henry St. George and Sampson Lennard under Camden, taken from Harl. MS. 1141. Most of the Pedigrees are subscribed by the heads of families, and some are marked with a cross and the word" entered." At the end are some added by Rich. Mundy, with drawings of Coats of Arms. Besides the Pedigrees, There are many notes made by the Heralds about the places where they stayed, the gentlemen already mentioned in the Visitation, and others who were disclaimed. Published in 1876
