Description

This book covers all of those parishes in the Dioceses of Exeter, which is most of Devon. There are thousands of entries starting in 1523 and continuing to1631. It is arranged in chronological order and gives the names of the bride and groom and their adobe. It is the ideal tool to locate the that missing marriage, particularly in those parishes that have not surviving parish registers or are particularly difficult to read. Sadly there is no index but is searchable although I would also recommend a thorough search by eye in addition to a computer search.
