Third volume of a trilogy. This book completes the FACHRS Home Front project publications. Volume 3 covers Recruitment and Volunteers, it looks at the impact of the First World War on employment in the commercial sector and industry, in agriculture, in women's role in industry and agriculture, and food and rationing. Agriculture experienced a major loss of men which impacted on food production and by 1917, rationing was brought in to preserve food stocks.
