The most common way of becoming a Freeman of Lincoln was by apprenticeship, and all the details of apprenticeships are to be found here together with Freemen, by Birth, Purchase and Gift. All the references relating to the same apprenticeship have been brought together into one paragraph, these being enrolment, assignment(s) and enfranchisement.for the same apprentice.
