Register of Residents from 1833 (inclusive) The Charterhouse has been in existence since the Middle Ages, but this publication relates to the current registers from 1833. The Hospital was rebuilt with forty rooms in 1778 to 1780 and from 1789, it was deemed necessary to have equal numbers of male and female residents. The rooms have now been modernised and are still in use today. This publication contains a list of residents with the dates they entered The House, when they left, their ages and, where relevant, details of their death.
