Gillingham, Kent burials in Grange Road Cemetery 1867-1973 and Woodlands Road Cemetery 1907-2020

Description

A transcription by members of the Kent Family History Society Medway Branch of the burial registers for the cemeteries in Gillingham, Kent. The registers for the former Cemetery in Grange Road are held at Medway Archives Centre and more than 23,000 records have been transcribed. The cemetery closed in the 1970s and virtually all headstones were removed and destroyed. The site is now a public open space. The cemetery in Woodlands Road opened in 1907 and the burial registers are held by Medway Council Bereavement Services. More than 36,400 entries, including almost 2,000 burials in the Naval area within the cemetery, have been transcribed.
Burials for Grange Road Cemetery 1967-1973 and for Woodlands Road Cemetery 1907-2007, were issued on Kent FHS CD40 and burials for Woodlands Cemetery 2008-2020 are available to download.
