Description

An alphabetical index of grooms and brides transcribed by Jack Parker. 6,500 entries contain Hertfordshire people married within the "Rules of the Fleet" as extracted from the registers, diaries and notes books still extant in the National Archives. The earliest date found is 1611. In 1754 these Fleet marriages came to an end. Also included is an Introduction by Jack Parker, further information relative to this index and Fleet marriages in general and illustrations.
