War on the Veldt, by Ian Smith, is published by the Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum. A4, 324 pp. It is the account of the 2nd Battalion Wiltshire Regiment and its participation in the Anglo-Boer War 1900-1902. The book is mainly based on original documents held by the museum and personal accounts of those who served with the Battalion or connected to the Battalion during the war. There are many illustrations, colour and monochrome, including maps unique to this publication. An image of the Contents page is below. There are annexes dealing with Mounted Infantry, The Volunteer Service Company, 3rd (Militia) Battalion. There is also an annex with biographies of officers of the Battalion and another annex, The Roll, which is a comprehensive listing of the entitlement to campaign medals.
