This CD provides images of the following: russell's directory, 1842 and hooke's directory, 1871 which cover guildford only . biddle's directories for 1929 and 1934 also include surrounding villages, although some pages of village information is missing from the 1929 directory . some pages are missing in the 1934 directory from the guildford streets and inhabitants sections . the entire contents have been scanned and bookmarked . each volume includes an index of residents and traders . a list of advertisers for each has been prepared . there are sections detailing various local organisations and dignitaries, schools and clubs . even though some pages of the 1929 and 1934 are missing, this cd will provide much valuable information and interest for anyone with roots in guildford in the past 170 years .
here is a complete list of the villages that are included in the new cd . these are applicable to the two later directories, as the two earlier directories are guildford only .
