Bertram Merrell Cheshire Marriage Index

Description

Bertram Merrell was the founder of the FHS of Cheshire, and over the past 25 years he has compiled a marriage index for most of the county, covering the years 1550-1837. It was originally available as a hand-written document on fiche, but the Society has computerised the index, and made it more easily accessible by publishing it on CD-ROM. Version 3 covers almost all the ancient Cheshire parishes up to 1837. As an added bonus, this latest version of the disk now incorporates the Mid-Cheshire Marriage Index and Hartley Jones Wirral Marriage Index. The CD contains a specially-written viewer program that allows both exact and Soundex searches for an individual surname, with a print-out facility (1 disk)
