Pigots Directory of Buckinghamshire (1830)

One of the very earliest directories covering Buckinghamshire. It decribes each town and the main villages in detail, with information about their facilities at the time. Churches, schools, post, carriages and wagon conveyances, etc. and of course lists of all the people with trades. From the candle makers and chimnney sweeps through to the doctors, dress makers and inn keepers. An excellent source of very early (pre-census) family history information.
